Women in Sports Business Symposium
"Victory through Unity”

Women in Sports Business Symposium 2009 In 1993, Jim Warsaw founded the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center so that University of Oregon students could learn about sports business in the classroom and through interaction with industry leaders. Over the past decade, the Women in Sports Business Symposium has become a cornerstone in the achievement of Jim's vision. In addition, the Symposium gives Oregon students the chance to celebrate and honor business leaders of today. Thanks to community support and participation of some of the most influential women in sports, the Symposium has grown in scope and national relevance.

In 2005, the Symposium began honoring a woman in the industry through the Women in Sports Business Symposium Woman of the Year Award. This year, the Warsaw Center and Symposium will honor Sue Rodin, Founder & National President of WISE Managing Director of LeadDog Marketing Group, as the 2009 Women in Sports Business Woman of the Year.

This year, the event will continue to meet the overarching goal of providing a forum for students and industry leaders to interact, educate, celebrate and honor women in sports business, in addition to being the launching point for a Portland WISE chapter. To accomplish this, the event's agenda is as follows:

  • Registration: 4:00 - 4:30pm
  • Welcome, Agenda and Introduction of Panelists by Paul Swangard: 4:30 - 4:35
  • Industry Panel: 4:35 – 5:45pm
  • WSBS Annual Awards Ceremony: 6:00 - 7:00pm
  • Cocktail Reception and Networking: 7:00 - 8:00pm

Thank you for your interest in the 2009 WSBS event. Seats at this year's event are limited, so please register now! We hope to see you at the White Stag Building in Portland, Oregon on May 7th.

Sincerely,

Cadence Sanman
