Women in Sports Business Symposium
In 2005, the Symposium began honoring a woman in the industry through the Women in Sports Business Symposium Woman of the Year Award. This year, the Warsaw Center and Symposium will honor Sue Rodin, Founder & National President of WISE Managing Director of LeadDog Marketing Group, as the 2009 Women in Sports Business Woman of the Year. This year, the event will continue to meet the overarching goal of providing a forum for students and industry leaders to interact, educate, celebrate and honor women in sports business, in addition to being the launching point for a Portland WISE chapter. To accomplish this, the event's agenda is as follows:

As the leading voice and resource for women in the business, WISE now has chapters throughout the country including Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington DC. WISE membership spans a diverse spectrum in experience and area of expertise, providing an opportunity for women to meet, discuss career related issues and network. The chapters meet regularly and meetings often feature panelists and speakers who are among the top names in the business representing the industry’s leading companies. Past speakers have come from ESPN, The New York Times, the NFL, Madison Square Garden, CBS, CitiGroup and USA Today. Topics covered included the art of negotiation, sports and philanthropy, career building and networking and work/life balance.
