Warsaw Sports Business Review: 2005

Warsaw Sports Business Review

On June 9, 2004, the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon launched the 'Warsaw Sports Business Review,' the sports industry's first ever student-run sports business journal. The aim of the Review is to contribute to the educational knowledge base of the sports business community by providing leading companies and executives an insightful review of critical issues impacting their business.

The publication is student-run from planning, editing, and writing through to distribution. The Review provides students the forum to write about emerging industry trends, interview leading executives, and analyze current issues.

The 2005 issue of the Warsaw Sports Business Review includes articles discussing several relevant issues in sports, including:

  • Rebirth of Cool: The explosion of hip-hip and its impact on sports
  • Hitting Into the Gaps: Women Leadership Roles in Baseball
  • All the Wrong Moves: How an Athlete's Earning's Potential is Affected by Poor Decision Making
  • Point of Purchase: Consumer Education in the Running Shoe Market
  • Managing Risk in the NBA
